Awards and badge
Every edition of the Litter Index comes with badges: one for the overall winner, one for each category award, and one for every listed litter. Here is what they mean, and how brands can ask to use them.
Category awards
The best litter of each main material gets an award badge with that material’s icon at its centre.
- Best tofu Tofu Cat Litter Australia, Original
- Best cassava Petabite, Snow Cat Litter
- Best clay Ever Clean Extra Strength
- Best blend Petabite, Terra Cat Litter
- Best wood, paper or grain Tofu Cat Litter Australia, Oat
Rules for using the badge
Permission first
Brands may cite their published rank with a dated credit and a link. Using the badge on packaging or in paid advertising needs our written permission.
The right badge
The winner badge is for the overall No. 1 only, and each category badge only for that award’s winner. Never invent ranks or categories that are not in the published list.
Always dated
Each badge shows its edition, for example “THE LITTER INDEX 2026”. Old badges are never updated to a new year.
Unchanged
Use only the files we supply. Don’t retype, recolour, crop or redraw the badge.
Request permission to use the badge
A badge can never be bought. Rankings are set by our tests alone. See our terms.
